How Sculptra works
Sculptra is a collagen stimulator. It contains poly-L-lactic acid, a material the body breaks down naturally. Rather than filling a line straight away like hyaluronic acid filler, it prompts your skin to build its own new collagen over the following weeks and months.
That makes it a good choice if your face is starting to look more tired than you feel, if you have noticed volume loss around the cheeks, temples or jaw, or if your skin feels thinner and less firm than it used to. The change is gradual, so friends notice that you look well, not that you've "had something done".
Areas treated
- Face. Cheeks, temples and jawline, to support structure and skin firmness.
- Neck. Crêpey, lined skin on the neck, a common concern Trisha treats.
- Hands and body. Thin skin on the backs of the hands and areas such as the upper arms.
What a course looks like
Most people need a course of treatments, spaced several weeks apart, because collagen is built in stages. Trisha will recommend how many sessions suit your skin at your consultation. Each session involves cleansing, numbing where needed and a series of small injections.
Right after treatment you may look a little fuller from the fluid the product is mixed with; this settles in a few days. The real result appears slowly over the following months as new collagen forms.
Aftercare matters with Sculptra: you'll be shown how to massage the area for several days afterwards, which helps the product spread evenly.
How long does Sculptra last?
Because it works by stimulating your own collagen, results from a full course can last a long time, often up to two years, depending on your age, skin and lifestyle. A maintenance session can then keep things topped up.
Sculptra or Radiesse?
Both are collagen stimulators. Sculptra builds collagen slowly and works well across larger areas of the face and body. Radiesse gives some immediate lift as well as collagen support, and is often used on the neck, décolletage and hands. Trisha offers both and will recommend the right one for you.

Questions about Sculptra
Is Sculptra a filler?
Not in the usual sense. It's a collagen stimulator: it works under the skin to help your body make its own collagen, so results appear gradually.
How soon will I see results from Sculptra?
Any early fullness settles within days. The real result builds over the following months as new collagen forms.
Can Sculptra be used on the neck and hands?
Yes. Trisha treats the neck and hands as well as the face.
