What is a skin booster?
Skin boosters are injectable treatments that put hydration and nutrients straight into the skin. Most are based on hyaluronic acid, often combined with amino acids, vitamins and antioxidants. Unlike filler they don't change your shape; they improve skin quality: hydration, elasticity, texture and that hard-to-define glow.
They suit skin that looks dull, dry or tired, fine lines and crêpiness, and areas where skin is thin, such as the neck, décolletage and hands.
Profhilo
Profhilo is a very high concentration of hyaluronic acid that spreads under the skin after a few small injections. It hydrates deeply and supports firmer, smoother skin. Trisha uses it on the face, neck and hands. A typical plan is two sessions about a month apart.
The skin boosters Trisha uses
Trisha chooses the product to suit your skin. Her clinic carries a wide range:
- Teoxane Redensity 1 (babyGLOW). Hyaluronic acid with amino acids, vitamin B6, minerals and antioxidants, placed with a precise injection technique for an even glow.
- Seventy Hyal. A high-concentration hyaluronic acid booster for fine lines, sagging and crêpiness, popular for the neck and décolletage.
- Sunekos. Hyaluronic acid combined with amino acids to support the skin's own repair.
- NCTF. A "polyrevitalising" cocktail of hyaluronic acid, vitamins and amino acids for dull, tired skin.
- Viscoderm and Belotero Revive. Light hydrating boosters for fine lines and skin quality.
- Neauvia Hydro Deluxe. Hyaluronic acid enriched with a low concentration of calcium hydroxylapatite, glycine and L-proline, to hydrate and support collagen for the face and neck.
Not sure which one you need? That's what the consultation is for. Trisha looks at your skin and recommends one product, not a menu.
What to expect
Skin boosters are placed with fine needles or a cannula, so you may have small raised bumps or redness that settle within a day or two. Most people return to work the same day. Results build over a few weeks, and a short course usually gives the best result.
Prices
Trisha's recent skin booster offer was from €130, and Profhilo from €200. Neauvia Hydro Deluxe is €250 for 2.5ml. Your exact price depends on the product and the number of sessions, and is confirmed at consultation.
Questions about skin boosters
What's the difference between Profhilo and filler?
Filler adds volume and shape in a specific area. Profhilo spreads under the skin to hydrate and improve skin quality, without changing your features.
How many skin booster sessions will I need?
Usually a short course, often two or three sessions a few weeks apart, then maintenance. Trisha will recommend a plan for your skin.
Can skin boosters be used on the neck and hands?
Yes. The neck, décolletage and hands respond very well to skin boosters and Profhilo.
How much are skin boosters in Wexford?
